Fairy Mystery Garden

Fairy folklore refers to the mythical beings found in European folklore, which are often described as having magical, supernatural, or preternatural qualities. These beings can be benevolent, mischievous, or malevolent and are associated with nature, including forests, water, and hearths. Their appearance and nature vary widely, from the tiny winged figures of modern depictions to powerful, human-sized beings in older tales

Fairy world

Fairies were thought to inhabit a different realm, which could be accessed through specific places like mounds or barrows. Time in the fairy realm often passed differently than in the human world

Appearance:

Fairies were originally often described as human-sized, and could be either benevolent or dangerous. The modern image of a small, winged, and usually benevolent fairy is a more recent invention, popularised in Victorian time

Interactions with humans:

Fairies could bestow gifts or blessings but could also cause misfortune or illness. They were sometimes blamed for phenomena like sick livestock, lost travellers, or the phenomenon of changeling babies.
